Description: Senior Accountant Report It Job Description The following is a brief listing of some the senior Accountant responsibilities. Assisting with the integration of two recently acquired entities. Completing major portions of the month-end close process in a deadline oriented environment Identifying, recommending, and implementing improved accounting reporting and processes. Participating in the coordination, creation and streamlining of processes Analyzing and explaining period vs. period and actual vs. budget variance. Prepare work papers and schedules in a logical format that are easy to review and tie out Assisting in the timely preparation of journal entries, supporting schedules, and balance sheet account reconciliations. Investigating and resolving open items. Monthly, quarterly and annual closing of the financial books within strict deadlines; possibly requiring long hours and/or weekends Reconciling certain G/L accounts to expected balances and reviewing reconciliations prepared by other staff members for accuracy Assisting in the timely preparation of auditing schedules and support Maintaining monthly close binder for SOX purposes (ensuring completeness, accuracy, ect) Assisting in the financial analysts as needed in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statement. Compiling and interpreting financial data related to operations and to assist management in making strategic decisions Assisting in establishing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable data necessary for business operations including accounting guidance research Enhancing accounting policies to clarify the types of transactions that should go into specific accounts as the complexity and reach of our business continues to grow Job Requirements We are looking for someone with 2-6 years professional experience.
